Veterans Center of Excellence

The Veterans Center of Excellence serves the military students of at Clark College and many of its services are funded through private donations and grants. College employees provide academic counseling, VA enrollment certification, educational and professional development workshops, one-on-one tutoring, referrals to college and community resources, student advocacy, and help navigating the VA system.  

The center itself is a place where military and veteran students can call their own. With computers, a large study area, and a lounge area students have a place to belong and socialize while on campus. Through your donations, we can provide the following for military and veteran students:

1. Food – we offer free snacks, water, soda, and coffee available for every military student that enters our center
2. Tutors – we provide free, dedicated tutors that are available 2-3 times each week in math, English, and science
   
   
3. Books – we purchase books for students every term
   
   
4. Emergency Grant – we provide money to students who need a little bit of extra help making ends meet. We pay a bill or two for students so they can stay in an apartment or keep a vehicle, thus reducing their stress levels.
   
   
5. Dental coverage- we pay for dental cleanings and services student obtain at the Clark College Dental Hygiene Dental clinic. 
   
   
6. Computers- we loan Dell laptop computers to students so they can attend online classes or access online class materials.  We ask they return the computers to us when they finish their educational credential.
   
   
7. Childcare- Starting Fall 2024, we will be offering a $600 stipend to help students defray the cost of childcare while they are attending college classes.
