Clark College’s Since Time Immemorial (STI) Initiative is a growing partnership with the Cowlitz Tribe, supporting the integration of Indigenous knowledge into teacher education and across the social sciences. With the STI curriculum now mandated in all Washington K-12 public schools, our future teachers need meaningful, culturally responsive learning experiences that go beyond textbooks.
Our goal is to raise $1,500 to support Indigenous (Native) guest speakers who bring lived experience, knowledge, and culture directly into the classroom, while also strengthening relationships with the Cowlitz Tribe and local school districts. These efforts primarily support BASTE (Bachelor’s in Teacher Education) students, while also enriching courses across the social sciences to better integrate Native perspectives.
Your gift helps connect students to Indigenous knowledge in powerful, personal ways. And don’t forget: your donation will be DOUBLED thanks to available matching funds!
Thank you for your support of inclusive education at Clark College!
